DocPresenter vs Elai

DocPresenter vs Elai

Elai builds a storyboard from whatever you give it — a script, a URL, a PDF, a deck. We do one conversion and nothing else: finished deck in, narrated video out, with the deck's own structure as the chapters. More flexible, or less work — pick which you need.

We could not verify a dollar figure from their public pricing page, so we are not printing one.

Our pricing is public and quoted per deck before anything runs. For theirs, check elai.io/pricing — last looked at 2026-10-28. We would rather leave a number out than guess at a competitor's price.

The things procurement, IT security and L&D teams ask us first.

We are not going to print a number we could not verify. Their public pricing page lists plan entitlements in monthly minutes rather than a published dollar figure we could confirm, and third-party sites disagree with each other. Check https://elai.io/pricing directly for current pricing — we would rather leave this blank than be wrong about a competitor's price. For reference, our own pricing is public and quoted per deck before anything runs: 10 credits per page, with a 20-page deck costing about $1.44 on the yearly plan.

Elai is a general text-to-video tool: give it a script, an article URL, a PDF or a deck, and it builds a multi-scene storyboard you edit. That is genuinely more flexible if you are making marketing or communications video where you control the narrative. We only do one conversion — finished deck in, narrated video out — and we optimise entirely for that: slides rendered as page images so complex charts survive, one chapter per page, up to 40 pages in a single render, and no storyboard to assemble.

Starting from things that are not decks. Turning a blog post into a video, or building a multi-scene marketing piece with stock footage between segments, is what a storyboard-based editor is for and we do not do it. Voice cloning and a large avatar library on their paid tiers are also ahead of what we offer.

Both render slides rather than reconstructing layout, so tables, charts and columns come through. The difference is what you do afterwards: here the deck's structure is the video and you review per-page narration; there you are editing scenes in a storyboard, which is more work and more control.

Yes — signup includes 60 free credits, enough to turn a 6-page deck you already have into a real video. Use your own material, not a sample: the question you actually need answered is whether your charts and fonts survive, and only your deck can answer that.
